Dr. Roy Hassoun is a specialist veterinary surgeon with over 12 years of experience performing advanced veterinary surgery. His background includes a significant emphasis on neurosurgical and orthopedic as well as soft tissue procedures. He holds a DVM, MVSc, BVSC (Hons.), DISAMS, and DSAS which reflects the breadth of his academic and clinical training as it relates to small animal surgery.
Dr. Roy Hassoun was born in Lebanon and earned his degree in veterinary medicine from the Lebanese University in Beirut. Following that, he went to France for additional specialized training. He undertook an internship in a rotating program in small animal medicine and surgery at the ENVT located in Toulouse, France and had advanced training in biomechanically designed orthopedic implants at the University of Claude Bernard located in Lyon, France.
As a veterinarian, Dr. Roy Hassoun’s experience includes working within some of the most prestigious surgical departments in both France and Lebanon. Within this time frame, Dr. Roy Hassoun has developed a specific interest in neurosurgery, orthopedic implants, as well as minimally invasive techniques. In addition to providing high quality care to patients, Dr. Roy Hassoun has spoken at international veterinary meetings and published articles in several veterinary journals.
