How early should I plan my pet’s relocation?

We advise planning a minimum of 90 days prior to moving your pet internationally. In many cases, four to six months can be necessary when relocating to certain destinations. The amount of time needed varies based upon factors such as vaccination requirements, blood testing requirements, permit acquisition times and other country specific regulatory issues.

Is microchipping required before travel?

Most countries now require ISO 11784/11785 compliant microchips in order for vaccinations to be administered and for travel documentation to be prepared. Microchipping provides permanent, reliable identification of your pet.

Will my pet be sedated during the flight?

Sedation is generally not recommended for flights due to safety reasons and many airlines also restrict or prohibit sedated pets from flying. Crate training, acclimatization, and using non pharmacological calming methods to reduce anxiety in pets are preferred alternatives to sedation.
