Dr. Joana Porto is a dedicated Veterinarian at Modern Vet Hospital Al Wasl. She provides caring, scientifically backed treatments to dogs and cats. Born in Portugal, Dr. Joana Porto graduated with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Lisbon, and then worked as a veterinarian in clinics throughout Europe, the United Kingdom, and the Middle East.
Her primary professional interest areas are internal medicine, dentistry, and clinical nutrition. In addition to continuing education courses related to veterinary dentistry, she is also in pursuit of her Master’s Degree in Animal Nutrition and is completing a certification program through ESAVS Clinical Nutrition. Her completion of both programs will add to her knowledge base of prevention and therapy for all aspects of patient care.
In addition to being passionate about creating a stress free and comfortable setting for her patients during each visit, Dr. Joana Porto is also committed to complete diagnostic testing and developing individualized treatment options based upon the needs of each patient. Dr. Joana Porto believes that educating clients and communicating clearly is essential in establishing trust and confidence in the decisions made by pet owners concerning their pets’ health.
